Just what is Nexus-IRC is one of the most common questions our people get asked, whats its all about where does the name come from is it a network so on and so forth. So we thought it would be a good idea to set a little time aside so we could explain exactly what Nexus-IRC is. Perhaps its best we first explain what we are not, we're not a development community though we don't discount that in the future, there was and always has been on previous Nexus-IRC sites developments spurts or coding questions but as far as a mini SF type site this is something we are not, we don't offer CVS/SVN or anything along those lines.

So having established that we're not a development community it should also be said we're not a network either, nor do we endorse any other network. We may from time to time promote a certain network via banners or interviews, something along those lines but as far as Nexus-IRC being a network, no, we're simply an IRC Resource site. We once did have a network but that's all explain in the History of Nexus-IRC area. So given that we're not a development community, nor a network what exactly is nexus-IRC ?

Well to be straight to the point as mentioned above we're a resource, by resource we offer links to IRC related material, we also offer file downloads and support forums and we share news from the IRC world on our site. Think of us as one big interchange, while other projects or networks rightly focus on there own activities and community we enlighten you to what everyone else is up-to.

New release, updated network links, things along those lines to help make life easier for someone who wants to know whats happening.. everywhere! This is of course an ambitious effort at best and revolves solely on how our community responds and works together. We're supporters of open source technology but we're not limited to presenting just open source applications.
