How do you know when your magenta toner is running low?

When you start to think about four color printing process things get confusing very quickly. For instance, what is this magenta anyway? The very first thing that you ready about the four color printing process is that it is based on the CYMK color model, which in turn is based on primary colors. Excuse me, since when has magenta been a primary color. The red in any pictures printed on Samsung printer comes from your magenta Samsung clp 315 toner cartridge.

Magenta obviously is not a RGB (red, green blue) color and there is no set conversion for red in the CMYK primaries formula. Primary colors, known as Key colors, in the CMYK model are cyan, magenta, and yellow.
Electric magenta was a color formulated in 1987 for use in computer displays. Other varieties of the color magenta may also be called fusine (think of the flower fuschia). The color magenta itself was named after the Battle of Magenta, which was found in Lombardy, Italy. Disconcertingly, this was not because of the color of the ground at Lombardy, but because the color the ground turned with all the blood that stained it. A sobering sidelight to the history of the color magenta.

As your magenta toner cartridge is getting low, a variety of shades ranging from deep reddish (cyan/magenta combos) to delicately soft orange shades (magenta/yellow combos) will start to look a bit faded. Run your toner cartridge through a few more sunsets and you’re going to think that the sun has gone out because the magenta part is essential for making those really great pictures.
