There have however been 3 releases since i missed the initial conversion Innocent You will find the latest changelogs for the versions we missed attached to this changelog, once again many apologies for missing this one.

WeeChat development

The next major version of WeeChat has already got underway with the announcement on the WeeChat homepage stating that ther eis to be a whole new line of developmentWeeChat needs you! which will make the client not only quicker but more portable than ever. One of the screenshots on the wikipage shows Weechat with a scripted version of the age old game Tetris dubbed WeeTris being played while chatting in IRC showing the extendability of the client. The official announcement reads like so:

Next WeeChat version (codename "revolution") is under development. Large part of code was rewritten, it's now faster, easier, and more extensible. List of new features and screenshots can be found on wiki page (see link below).

mIRC 6.32 Released

Oddly i missed this one and was totally unaware there had been a release, it was Chain whom prompted me to the release of the latest version via his post on the forums here - so rather than me waffle on about a release i knew nothing about, here is the mIRC announcement as it stands.

This version of mIRC builds on recent releases by focusing on stability and reliability and addressing the various issues that have been reported by users since the last release. It includes cosmetic changes to the interface, fixes, optimizations, and improvements to the scripting language.

In particular, mIRC can now handle longer nick names, channel names, and messages, as well as longer variable values in the scripting language.

Various other changes include:

  • Added support for network-specific window position saving.
  • Fixed mouse wheel handling of scrolling with high resolution mice.
  • A "Check for Updates" option has been added to the mIRC Help menu to automatically check for new versions of mIRC.
  • Optimized INI file handling to only update those parts of a file that have changed. This decreases file writes and speeds up a number of features in mIRC, including USB drive usage.
  • Improved display speed of text in all windows.
  • Fixed multi-byte text-wrapping display issues.
  • Fixed and optimized a number of @window display features, including the way tabstops are handled.
  • Improved unicode support in the $mp3() identifier.

Leafchat 2.1

A new version of leafchat has come around once again this time in the form of 2.1 there are one or two new features but a hell of a lot of changes inleafchat 2.1 all departments, some from user reports, some just issues, some auto reported bugs - similar to the way the xchat windows version works and some API changes which plugin coders will be interested in.

The highlighted changes in this release are:

  • Channel user status display
  • Away status handling
  • Automatically close spare windows
  • popup notification events
The changes appear to be rather well accepted by the community as leafchat ( excuse the poor word play ) turns over yet another new leaf ( i know, sorry ) The change log as ever has been attached, note it has been broke across several pages as its .. big! and the downloads have been attached ( in order of os lin, win, osx)

GalaxyNet has turned 13 today unlucky for some, not so bad for them. The network has over its years never been far from the top of the pile and often13th birthday has had its fair share of issues but for the most part they have been overcome. So from all at IRCNews to all involved behind and around the Galaxynet scene "happy birthday to you... happy birthday to you ... happppyyyy birthday galaxyyyyyyy..net ... happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

Singing was never our strong point over here, so i think in the future we will just stick the news huh Sealed

ETG turns 10!

A historic moment for the network Enter The Game, I'm quite certain there will be a big party with lots of cookies and a fair amount of m00'ing done asETG turns 10 ETG celebrates its first decade in operation. Quite a feat really as most networks don't last beyond the first year. ETG has always and will always be a gamers network but it does have some friendly residence for the none gaming side of things too!

So we would like to wish all at ETG a very well done and congratulations on reaching the magic 10th year and hope you will ensure there are a further 10 more years in the old network yet.
